A welcoming group of people standing together
The team you're joining

A small team.
Shared ownership.

We bring different strengths and a shared commitment to helping people grow. Our culture is shaped by the initiative, openness, and care each of us brings.

Get to know SELF

Take initiative. Own your work.

Notice what needs doing and take the next step. We trust you to make thoughtful decisions, follow through, and ask for support when you need it, without being micromanaged.

Build with us. Keep learning.

We're a growing social enterprise with a startup spirit. We experiment, learn, and improve together. Bring ideas, welcome feedback, and help shape how SELF grows.

Collaborate as equals.

Everyone has a voice and a part to play. We work as colleagues and collaborators, with shared responsibility for the quality of our work.

Grow as a person, too.

As we support others, we keep doing our own self-work: reflecting on our patterns, understanding our emotions, and learning how we relate to others. We care about who we're becoming along the way.

Young people supporting one another in a group conversation
What youth work means to us

Hard work. Heart work.

A youth worker helps young people develop, wearing many hats along the way: trainer, teacher, role model, cheerleader, game master, and facilitator.

You might help a quiet young person find the words to express themselves, bring an energetic group together, or support someone navigating anger, conflict, or challenging behaviour.

It takes creativity and energy, but also patience, empathy, and calm boundaries. Progress can be slow. Being someone who keeps showing up with care can make all the difference.
